Norwegian Cruise Line has selected Pitbull, a true Miami icon to serve as the Godfather of its latest Miami based ship, the Norwegian Escape.

Pitbull, also known as Armando Christian Perez, will serve as the Norwegian Escape’s Godfather, christening the ship this coming November during a dockside ceremony and concert. The high energy christening ceremony will take place alongside the ship at PortMiami on November 9th.
According to Norwegian, the choice of Pitbull as the Norwegian Escape’s Godfather reinforces Norwegian’s idea of non-traditional and freedom focused cruising.
“Pitbull has been an excellent partner and great friend to Norwegian Cruise Line,” said Andy Stuart, Norwegian Cruise Line’s president. “A Miami native, he epitomizes and contributes to the energy, excitement and local flavor that our ships so proudly embody and we’re excited to build upon our relationship and have him serve in this special role as Godfather to Norwegian Escape.”
The Norwegian Escape recently finished outfitting at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg shipyard and is expected to arrive in Miami in early November. Upon arriving in her new homeport, following her christening and preview sailings, the Norwegian Escape will begin sailing weekly to the eastern Caribbean.
