New River Steamboat & Cunard’s Aquitania Anniversary

New River Steamboat For American Queen Steamboat Company

Earlier today, the American Queen Steamboat Company announced that they have acquired a new steamboat, to be named American Empress. Before she enters the fleet in April 2014, the American Empress will undergo an extensive refurbishment to match the offerings and amenities found aboard her sister, the American Queen. The new American Empress will sail itineraries along the Columbia and Snake rivers in the northwest US, departing from Portland, Oregon and Clarkson, Washington.

Cunard Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Aquitania

On 30 May 2014, Queen Victoria will remain in port for a rare overnight stay in Liverpool, to commemorate of the maiden voyage of Cunard’s Aquitania. At the time, Liverpool was the homeport for the Aquitania, and the headquarters for Cunard. Cunard describes the overnight call as rare and a unique experience for the guests aboard the Queen Victoria and the Cunard fans of Liverpool. This is the second overnight call in Liverpool for a Cunard ship in almost 50 years.
