Seabourn Encore, the first in a new class of ship for Seabourn, reached a significant milestone last week as her keel was laid in a special ceremony.
The keel laying ceremony, held at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard, marks an important milestone in the construction of the new ship. The ceremony was attended by key members of the Holland America Group, Seabourn, and Fincantieri executive teams.
“Set to debut as the most modern and acclaimed ship in the ultra-luxury segment, the keel laying of Seabourn Encore represents another pivotal stage in the evolution of small-ship cruising,” said Seabourn President Richard Meadows. “This is an important milestone and we look forward to revealing further progress and highlights of Seabourn Encore in the months ahead.”
The new Seabourn Encore is modeled after her Odyssey Class predecessors, but will feature an additional deck and new public spaces. The all-suite Seabourn Encore is expected to sail with only 600 guests in, offering an exclusive and intimate onboard atmosphere. Additional details of the ship’s offerings are expected soon. Seabourn Encore is scheduled to debut late 2016.
