Following a drydock this December, Holland America Line’s ms Volendam will offer guests 21 redesigned staterooms, a contemporary bar, and newly appointed bathroom in all suites and other select staterooms.
The 21 redesigned staterooms, which were previously oceanview staterooms, will be converted into the line’s exclusive Lanai Staterooms, offering guests direct access to the ship’s wrap around promenade and reserved, padded lounge chairs. The staterooms, which have previously been installed aboard sister ships ms Maasdam, Rotterdam, and Veendam, have become increasingly popular among Holland America Line guests. The stateroom’s location, combined with the ease of access to the ship’s main promenade, offer guests a convenient and comfortable accommodation.
Suites will also see an update to the bathrooms, featuring new whirlpool bathtubs, stone vanities, lighted mirrors, Grohe fixtures, floors, walls and sinks. Additional staterooms, including the new Lanai staterooms will receive new walk in showers and updated appointments throughout the bathroom.
In addition, the Volendam will see a reconfiguration of her atrium bars, adding the poplar contemporary bar, Mix. Mix, which is the combination of three, smaller themed bars, Martinis, Champagne and Spirits & Ales, will offer guests a variety of speciality drinks, cocktails, beers, wines, champagne, and other alcoholic beverages. Throughout the day, Mix also serves as the host for a number of events, such as the line’s champagne breakfast, pre-lunch Mimosa and Bellini hour, champagne tea time and pre-dinner champagne hour.
“Volendam’s itineraries in Alaska and other scenic parts of the world are ideal for direct promenade deck access and the enhanced views of the popular lanai layout,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and guest relations. “We’re also making other exciting enhancements to the ship, and adding Mix presents a stylish multi-themed venue for our guests to mingle and enjoy themselves.”
The ms Volendam will enter drydock in Singapore beginning on December 8th and will complete her renovations on December 22nd.
