Carnival Cruise Lines is pushing social technology in the launch of their newest ship, the Carnival Breeze, starting this week. According to Carnival blog post, the company in partnership with American Idol Season 9 alumni, Janell Wheeler, will kick off a social media campaign on June 2. Wheeler will engage with fans through videos and chats on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
The AI alum will share her cruising experience via videos and pictures where she’ll explore the ship and give her fans a “you-are-there” feeling. Each video will end with a “video confessional” that explains Wheeler’s plans for the day in addition to her experiences thus far.
The Carnival Breeze will start its inaugural voyage, a 12-day Mediterranean cruise departing from Venice, Italy on June 3.
